Margaret Holiday, Commodore

Margaret and Judd Holiday joined the Yacht Club in 2011 shortly before moving to the West Shore of Lake Tahoe full-time in 2012.  They now live in Incline Village.  She retired from a career in education, teaching and administration, in Sacramento.  Margaret has served on the TYC Board of Directors for several years before becoming Rear Commodore last year. She is also very active in the TYC Foundation and the Concours d’Elegance Boat Show Wine Village as well as being involved in other local area organizations.

Ross Arno, Vice Commodore

Ross has served as Port Captain, Director-at-Large and TYC powerboat committee chair.  He also currently serves as Vice President of the TBCOA, representing the privately owned side of Tahoe City Marina.  Ross recently retired from Merck and currently works at Amgen Biotechnology.  Ross and his wife, Jamie, reside in Sacramento and spend their free time at their home in Tahoe City and Santa Cruz.

Bill Krivan, Rear Commodore

Bill and his wife, Terry, joined the club in 2011 after retiring, allowing them to spend about equal time during the year at their homes in Tahoe City and San Jose. Bill has been a TYC Board Member-at-Large since 2015. He is a PICYA Delegate from TYC, a member of the Bylaws Committee and Chair of the IT Committee. Bill is a retired defense electronics professional, with a career in systems engineering and program management, mostly in electronic warfare systems. He also is a retired Navy Captain, with shipboard experience (destroyers) and, later in his Navy career, Engineering Duty assignments. Bill is avid fly fisherman and, along with Terry, a downhill skier and a bike rider.  They both enjoy cooking as a team.

Shannon Madison, Port Captain

Shannon and her husband, Giles Douglas, joined TYC in 2014, shortly after purchasing their house in Homewood’s Tahoe Swiss Village. There, they met their neighbors Nancy Cunningham, Wes Schimmelpfennig, and Herb and Frances Pierce, who encouraged them to join the Tahoe Yacht Club. Shannon spent the past decade working as a software engineer at Google, before quitting high tech for the frenetic life of a chef. Since joining the yacht club, Shannon has held technology training classes, volunteered as a host for First Fridays, produced three seasons of Mahogany Magic, taken over as Managing Editor of the Block & Tackle publication team, and serves on the IT committee.

Frances Pierce, Director-at-Large

Frances and her husband, Herb, joined TYC in 2012, shortly after retiring and moving to Lake Tahoe. Frances worked for the U.S. Geological Survey for 37 years as a geologist specializing in minerals, energy, and the environment. 2018 marks Frances' third year on the TYC Board of Directors. She is a member of the IT, and Trophy/Awards Committees. Frances is a member of the Tahoe League for Charity and is a docent at the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center. Herb and Frances enjoy boating on the lake and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Mike Simmons, Director-at-Large & Secretary

Michael (Mike) Simmons is an executive with a nationwide insurance brokerage firm. He specializes in providing risk management consulting to California cities, Nevada rural hospitals and public universities. Mike and his wife Cathy live in Alamo, California where they raised their intelligent and good looking adult children. Nate and Tori, who both live out-of-state, visit Mike and Cathy often at their second home in Northstar. The Simmons come from a long line of sailors and fishermen, dating back to Mike’s great-grandfather, a long-line Grand Banks fisherman out of Gloucester, MA. Mike starting sailing at age three with this father, Hank, on the Charles River in Boston. They continued sailing and racing as they moved through various inland waterways in Ohio, lakes in Italy, and finally settling and sailing on San Francisco Bay in a variety of 30 to 40 foot sloops. Now, between May and October, Mike can frequently be found on the water either paddle boarding, powerboating on Lake Tahoe in Above Water, or whitewater rafting on any one of many Oregon, Idaho or Colorado rivers. The remainder of the year, Mike will likely be scuba diving or involved in Tahoe snow activities including skiing, snowmobiling, and ice skating – the common thread involves water.

John Sakrison, Director-at-Large

John David Sakrison and his wife, Carla, along with their two kids, Sierra and Skyler, live in Menlo Park; but they call West Shore their home. He grew up skiing at Sugar Bowl, starting at age four with a bunch of crazy Austrians. Later, he attended the University of Nevada, Reno, but graduated from a non-ski school, University of Arizona. It wasn’t until a cross-country bike trip in Europe that he found his passion for cooking. He started as a chef at LuLu’s in San Francisco, then off to Vail for a season at Sweet Basil. He then moved to Stars in Oakville, where he also spent time perfecting his talents at Chez Panisse and French Laundry. Today, you can find him at his restaurant and conference center, Quadrus, located on Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park. That is, when he’s not up at the Tahoe Yacht Club!

Sol Gold, Director-at-Large

Sol and his wife, Robin, joined the club in 2015 and split time between their homes in Tahoma and Petaluma, where they raised their son, Michael. Sol is a retired firefighter and works part-time for Hall Wines in St. Helena. He has been a member of the TYC Wine Events Committee since joining the club and currently serves as the committee Chairman. Sol has been spending summers and winters at Lake Tahoe for the past 55 years and enjoys skiing, golfing, hiking, boating and fishing.

Lynn Mullen , Director-at-Large

Lynn and her family raced their J-24, Blue-J, for 30-plus years in the TYC fleet. She also co-chaired 15 Trans-Tahoe Regattas and four Waterski Carnivals. She now chairs our Bocce Team, co-chairs our Penguins, and serves on our membership and nominating committees. After earning her BS in information systems management, Lynn worked in high-tech in the Silicon Valley. Then, after earning her teaching credentials, she taught Special Ed and ESL in San Jose schools. As a volunteer she was president of Art Docents of Los Gatos, coach in the Alpine Meadows Adaptive Ski School, and docent in California state parks.

Rick Raduziner, Sr Staff Commodore 

During the past 28 years Rick has been a regional Tahoe/Truckee real estate broker. He currently works for Sierra Sotheby's International Realty providing professional representation for his clients in the Tahoe City, Squaw Valley, and Truckee areas. He teaches and coaches part-time at Squaw Valley and concurrently serves as a Professional Ski Instructor of America Western Divisional Ski Examiner and Homewood Snowcat Adventure Guide. Rick discovered sailing 8 years ago and racing the Laser dinghy and Melges 24's remains one of his passions. Rick and Jill, his wife and the love of his life, are looking forward to many more glorious days schussing the slopes with the Penguins and on Lake Tahoe in their sport runabout fiberglass boat, "Red Sled" and joining the 2017 Division 3 sailing fleet in their newly acquired 1977 Santa Cruz 27 aptly named, "Lickety-Split".

Ray Landgraf, Jr Staff Commodore

Ray and Pat Landgraf live in Carmichael, where they raised their three sons Raymond, Bryan and Scott. They have owned a home in Tahoe City since 1993. The Landgrafs are active boaters in the summer and Ray enjoys skiing in the winter. Members for 9 years, they enjoy making new friends at the Yacht Club. Ray is still actively working, selling medium and high voltage electrical equipment for industrial and renewable energy projects. Pat and Ray enjoy travelling and fishing together. Ray is an avid bird hunter, and duck season is just a few weeks away! Ray has been on the TYC Board for 6 years, during which he has been active in arranging wine dinners and tastings,served as treasurer, Port Captain, Rear Commodore, and served as Commodore last year.
