The Tahoe Yacht Club Mission
The mission of the Tahoe Yacht Club is to develop a sense of community and friendship grounded in the nautical traditions begun by the Club's founders, by providing a year-round calendar of on and off the water activities, social events, and collaboration with the greater Tahoe community.

As we approach our Centennial Year in 2026, the Tahoe Yacht Club continues to live up to that mission statement. We offer a robust summer schedule of sailing and powerboating, and activity group outings for paddlers, cyclists, hikers, golfers, bocce and pickleball enthusiasts. In the winter, outings are scheduled for downhill/cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. All these activities offer opportunities to enjoy the incredible beauty of the Lake Tahoe basin with friends, beauty that our Blue Crew environmental team helps maintain by participating in periodic shoreline cleanups. Year-round, the club schedules a steady round of engaging social events, including monthly First and Casual Fridays with hosted hors d’oeuvres, special events such as the Gin Fizz Fling/Blessing of the Fleet summer opener, Independence Day celebration, Kentucky Derby, Oktoberfest, Halloween, New Year’s Eve parties, to highlight a few. There are occasional speaker events that feature interesting presentations about topics of interest to our membership. Of course, in August, our TYC Foundation sponsors of the annual Concours d’Elegance, one of the best antique and classic boat shows in the world, featuring exceptional examples of the wood boat craft.

Our members include full-time Lake Tahoe residents, and members from Northern California and beyond who spend part-time at the Lake. For individual use, members have access to club-owned kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and a fleet of Pico, Sunfish and Laser sailboats. Don't forget the reciprocity privileges which allow members to enjoy the hospitality of hundreds of other yacht clubs around the world.

The Club focus is on providing opportunities for mingling with others who share interests in an active social and outdoor life.
