As we move into our 92nd year, Tahoe Yacht Club continues its tradition of service to members offering a full calendar of social events at our beautiful lakefront clubhouse and at many other sites around Lake Tahoe.
There are Speaker Series dinners which bring interesting people into the Club to talk about their special fields of expertise regarding Lake Tahoe and environs. TYC members also gather for the Gin Fizz Summer Season Opener and Blessing of the Fleet in May, Independence Day celebration and exploring the Lake by boat with the Commodore in July. Of course, the best boat show in the world is sponsored by the TYC Foundation in August, featuring classic wooden boats. Add to these our ski days, sailing events, boating events, parties and you have a yacht club dedicated to fun for all, including the kids. Don't forget the reciprocity privileges which allow members to enjoy the hospitality of hundreds of other yacht clubs around the world.
The Club has evolved over the years into a year-round organization offering a wide range of social and outdoor activities. Membership includes full-time Lake Tahoe residents, and members from Northern California and beyond who spend part-time at the Lake. The Club has active spring and summer sailing and power boating programs and groups interested in golf, tennis and bocce ball. For individual use, members have access to kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and a fleet of Pico, Sunfish and Laser sailboats. In the winter the TYC Penguins ski together at local ski areas. Year round, there is an active social schedule of bridge games, wine tastings, dinners, events marking special occasions such as the Kentucky Derby, Super Bowl Sunday, New Year’s and the very popular monthly First Friday parties with excellent hosted hors d’oeuvres.
The Club focus is on providing opportunities for mingling with others who share interests in an active social and outdoor life. Come by the Club to check us out.
