Rules:
The Laser
Sail Regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS),
the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association when they apply, the rules of the Laser Class, except to the extent that these rules are changed by the Tahoe Yacht Club 2009-2012 Sailing Instructions.
Participants
must indicate their intention to sail either A Class
(experienced sailor) or B Class (novice sailor), prior
to the beginning of each Monday night regatta. Participants will
be required to sail in their elected class for the entire series
(Spring or Summer).
All participants
will be required to have sail numbers visible on their sail. These
sail numbers must be in the proper place and of a proper size
as required by the Class. All participants are required to have
read and understand the TYC 2009-2012 Sailing Instructions. The Sailing
instructions can be found at the TYC Clubhouse or by clicking
here.
Race committee
will post any changes to Sailing Instructions on the official race
notice board at the TYC Clubhouse one hour prior to the warning
signal.
The scoring
for each series, Spring and Summer, will be done using the low
point system of Appendix A of the RRS. There will be at least
14 races scheduled for the Spring series and 14 for the Summer
series. A minimum of 5 races will be required for a series. As
per Rule A2.1, there will be one throw out race for every five
that are run by the Race Committee. There will be an overall scoring
class as well, made up of the combined points for spring and summer
series.

Club 2009-2012 Sailing Instructions. The Laser Sail Regatta is designated
Category B.
