NOTICE OF RACE

1 Rules
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association (US SAILING), the rules of the International Laser Class Association (ILCA) and this Notice Of Race, except as any of these are changed by the Sailing Instructions or any appendices to the Sailing Instructions.
1.2 The organizing authority is the Tahoe Yacht Club (TYC). The event will be held at TYC.
1.3 The regatta is designated Category C in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.
2 Language
The official language for this regatta will be English.
3 Inspection and Measurement
Sail inspection will be required at this regatta. Please ensure your sail numbers are applied in accordance with ILCA class rules. Sail will be checked on the first day of races prior to the first warning signal at the USCG station. Sails may be measured prior to racing, and may also be spot checked at any time during the regatta. Note that numbers and letters drawn on the sail with permanent ink pens are not legal. 4 Eligibility and Entry
Competitors who are members of the International Laser Class Association and who have reached the age indicated in the categories below by August 25, 2007 are eligible to compete. Competitors who are not members of the ILCA-NA or their national Laser Class Association, may enter by completing registration with the organizing authority.
4.1 Masters Categories:
- Apprentice – 35-44 years of age
- Master – 45-54 years of age
- Grand Master – 55-64 years of age
- Great Grand Master – 65+ years of age
You must achieve the proper age by August 25, 2007.
Masters of any age may swap rigs [Radial to Full and back] at any time [on land only] throughout the event. All sails must have the same sail number
5 Risk
It is the competitor's decision to enter the regatta and to start or continue any race. The competitors are ultimately responsible for the risks. The competitor will accept full responsibility for all his/her actions during any activity related to the event. This includes on-shore activities before, during, and after the regatta.

First Warning Signal 1300, races to follow
Awards to follow ASAP after last race
6.2 No warning signal will be made after 17:00 on the final day of the regatta
7 Advance Registration
Competitors may register in advance by completing the standard ILCA-NA registration form and sending it, with the appropriate fees to Tahoe Yacht Club, PO Box 7620, Tahoe City, CA 96145 or fax 530-581-4771. Visit www.tahoeyc.com for registration form and NOR.
8 Fees
8.1 Required Fees (checks should be made payable to: Tahoe Yacht Club):
The entry fee is $75. A late fee of $15 will be charged after August 17, 2007.
8.2 The entry fee includes snacks and fresh water for the competitors during each race day, dinner on the evening and awards ceremony and a regatta souviner.
9 Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions will be available during on-site registration as well as at www.tahoeyc.com
10 Courses & Racing Area
10.1 Courses will be standard ILCA-NA courses as described in the ILCA-NA Masters Regatta Guidelines.
10.2 The racing area will be in the vicinity of the Dollar Point on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. The courses will be described in the sailing instructions.
11 Scoring
11.1The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A4, will be used except as modified below.
11.2 Five races are scheduled; a minimum of three races must be completed to constitute a regatta.
11.3 When 5 or more races are completed a sailor may discard their worst score.
11.4 NA Master handicap system will be in place. You add the following points to each race to find the overall series winner. - Apprentices - add 3 points - Masters - add 2 points - Grand Masters - add 1 point - Great Grand Masters - add 0 points The results are recalculated and the person with the lowest score wins, etc.
