2011 SPONSOR Laser...Laser...Laser!
The Laser - an Olympic Class sailboat measuring 13 feet 10 and 1/2 inches and weighing just 130 pounds. The Laser is probably the world’s most popular sailboat, offering sailors a relatively inexpensive yet pure form of sailing. Undoubtedly, Laser racing is some of the best single handed, one design racing in existence. The boat can be rigged by one person in approximately 10-15 minutes, is small enough to car top and, best of all, is extremely easy to maintain!
If you are interested in participating, races are held Monday evenings as shown on the calendar throughout the summer. There are two race series with awards for 1st through 3rd in each, plus an overall champion. The 2011 season will be capped by the annual Kip Lar Rieu Laser Fleet Championship, open to all sailors, held at Stampede Reservoir on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Whether sailors camp for the weekend or just show up for the day, this is a not-to-miss event.
Set your sails now for true adventure in sailing on Lake Tahoe. At 6,229 feet above sea level, it's the largest and highest alpine lake in America, with crystal waters and challenging winds! 2011 SPONSOR |
