Founded
in 1925, Tahoe Yacht Club ranks among the oldest boating associations
in the West. Through the years, it has come to enjoy a reputation
for its hospitality, friendly atmosphere, and enviable location
framed by the towering pines and pristine waters of Lake Tahoe.
Today,
it is host to 500 member families from Northern California, Nevada
and all across the U.S. who enjoy power boating, sailing, and
who have an appreciation of the classic wooden boats found in
abundance on the crystal clear "Lake in the Sky."
TYC's
social calendar is designed for
relaxation and fun, with members and their guests enjoying activities
on and off the water, and the inviting year-round amenities of the
spacious Clubhouse with its unequaled view of Lake Tahoe.
The
traditional afternoon 'black tie' Gin Fizz
Fling launches a busy summer season of special events, including
the family fun of our 4th of July Celebration,
the annual Commodore's Cruise to Emerald Bay, sailing regattas
for both Lasers and Keelboats, the traditional Trans
Tahoe Regatta, and August's Wooden Boat
Week which includes dining, dancing, cruises, picnics, luncheon
fashion show, and moonlight Mahogany Magic finale. For a
complete listing of Tahoe Yacht Club's many events, see our events
calendar.
Tennis
and Alpine ski buffs will also enjoy Club camaraderie in day events
at private lakeside courts and nearby world class resorts. TYC members
may also enjoy year-round reciprocal privileges extended by PICYA-member
Clubs and yachting associations around the world.
