2013 SPONSORS This year’s TYC weekend events include three fun restaurant regattas as well as the famous Trans Tahoe Regatta. Restaurant Regatta Series Restaurant races will be a pursuit format. See notice of race or sailing instructions for more information. Hosting the four events in venues outside of Tahoe City give the boats that live outside of town a chance to compete close to home. Post-event parties at each restaurant are fun and well-attended. The locals all know that Sunnyside, Jake's, and GarWoods have some of the best food and drinks on the North and West Shores! This summer, if you have friends or family that can’t make the crew list, send them to the restaurant to watch the races. The club has made a true commitment to the boats of yesteryear that have a tough time competing head to head with the sport boats of the new millenium. There are three separate PHRF divisions (get more information on the divisions on the Sailing Instructions). There are event and series awards for all divisions. In an attempt to further level the playing field, the format for this series will be reverse start meaning the boat with the highest PHRF rating starts first and the boat with the lowest PHRF rating will start last. This means that the boat that is first to finish wins, second boat will be second place, etc. It's a fun twist to PHRF racing! These races, in addition to the Trans Tahoe Regatta provide for a full season of weekend racing on Lake Tahoe.
