Welcome Back TYC Eagles!

Attention to all golfers of the TYC- Did you know you were surrounded by fellow golf lovers when you are in the clubhouse? During the summer months, TYC members gather to play in fun tournaments and socialize with friends. Families are welcome!
Recap of summer 2011:
The “Eagles” finished their first full season. There were three fun-filled golf tournaments with over 50 golfers participating. All the tournaments were held at Northstar Golf Course where we were treated very well.
Awards were given for “low net” foursome, closest to the pin for men and women and longest drive for men and women.
After each event the golfers gathered at the Yacht Club for excellent “potluck” dinners, awards, drinks and great camaraderie.
The awards for this last event went to Les Schwoob and his foursome. Les brought in some “ringers”, his son Karl Schwoob, Bob Lay and Bob’s son-in-law Jeff Olson. They posted a score of 6 under par – lowest combined score for the season. Great golfing men!!
The women’s long ball went to Sandi Kelly. She blasted her ball past Karen Olin to take the honors. For the men the long ball award went to Karl Schwoob, beating Doug Brown by 20 yards (may have to start having blood tests for participating golfers). Closest to the pin went to Sandi Kelly (44 feet) for the women and Don Sloat (21feet) for the men.
This year was my first year as chairperson for this event. It was a good year and fun was had by all of the golfers. Next year, I hope, we can double our participation. I am looking into new venues and different formats. Input from anybody is greatly appreciated. I have had a couple of volunteers and together I am sure we can come up with exciting events.
During the winter you can expect a simple questionnaire (that we hope that you fill out) to help us understand the various golfing skills that we have in the club. This will help us create golf events that will appeal to everyone’s abilities.
Thanks to all who participated this year and who helped make our “Eagles” events so successful. Looking forward to seeing everyone next summer on the links.
Thanks,
Doug Brown
A SPECIAL THANKS TO TYC MEMBER DOUG BROWN FOR ALL HIS WORK PUTTING TOGETHER 3 AMAZING TOURNAMENTS THIS YEAR!
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU ON THE COURSE NEXT SUMMER!!
